Customer and friend Ethan Swindel is a Honda guru. Over the years he has had (and currently still does have) quite a few Golden Era Honda projects. Most recently he has gotten his Honda CRX setup for the SCCA STL class up and running. Powered by a built B16a engine with MCS 2 Way Dampers this car has all the right parts to be competitive at any SCCA Road Race he attends. Ever wonder how much weight you can save with a knife edged crankshaft? Here are 2 images showing the weight of a stock Honda B18c1 Crankshaft to a Knife Edged B18c Crankshaft. Quite a bit of savings.  This modification isn't for every engine type. The use case for this would be a high revving, max horsepower naturally aspirated application. Particular something that lives in the higher end of the RPM range. Always interesting to see custom work.

Successful day with the CX at the track. Engine, chassis and suspension worked well. Car was quite fun to drive. The seat, harness, roll bar setup hit the nail on the head. Have a small list of things to address.  The FIRM is currently back to running their shortened configuration. Unfortunately didn’t know this going in to the day.
