22+ BRZ / GR86 Autopower 4pt Race Roll Bar

After 2 track days in the '25 BRZ tS I have realized how much I hate holding myself in place in a stock seat. Time for what we knew was inevitable, a bolt in roll bar so I can run a proper fixed back bucket seat and 6pt harness. The first step was deciding what roll bar to use. There is no shortage of roll bars on the market for the BRZ and GR86 platforms but after looking at all the various designs and routing I felt the Autopower was going to give the best performance and aesthetics.

We have used other Autopower bolt in roll bars in the past with great success. After doing some initial research we did find some having fitment issues with the 'off the shelf' Autopower race roll bar for the '22+ BRZ chassis. All the labor was done by our friends over at G3 Motorsports. The initial test fit found issues with the main hoop and a less than desirable fitment of the 'feet' of the main hoop. It appears the Autopower roll bar was designed and fitted on their end in a car with no headliner. That is the only thing we can come up with as the reason why the main hoop was way too tall. After fabrication and re-working was done the bar was sent off to powdercoating.

Getting the fitment precisely integrated into the interior was a time consuming job but the guys at G3 Motorsports did a fantastic job and we couldn't be happier with the results. It was disappointing the bar needed as much work as it did to fit but the good news is that it now fits better than Autopower would of ever gotten it to as an 'off the shelf' roll bar.

Next we will be fitting a fixed back race seat and harness to swap in and out with the OEM seat for track days and headed to Roebling Road Raceway on Sept 12-13, 2026 for a fun track weekend.
