I'm a Michelin Man .... but sometimes you gotta try a different Fleva.
The Michelin Pilot Sport 4S is one of the best all around street tires on the market in years. It is quiet, has plenty of grip even for the track and is wonderful in the rain. The close 2nd for me is the Continental ExtremeContact Sport tire. You want a street tire that is able to gap people in wet conditions that Continental tire is it.Â
Whenever possible those are my 2 go to brands for tires. But with the smaller selection on the market in 15" sizes, specifically the 195/55/15 tire size that is used on the Integra Type R I had to take a chance on a new 300tw contender. The Yokohama Advan Fleva V701. I have put about 2000 miles on these so far in a wide range of conditions and color me impressed.
The first takeaway is they have very little road noise. This is important to me as I am now a middle aged man that doesn't have time for annoyances. Their dry grip isn't up to the PS4S level but there is confidence on wet roads. Overall a solid choice thus far. I look forward to racking up more miles on them. And possibly even run them on a race track to get a better feel for what they are capable of.
