1st Place Limited FWD at Global Time Attack Palm Beach

The IPGParts.com Race Team traveled to Palm Beach, Florida on June 1st-2nd, 2012 to compete in Round 3 of the Global Time Attack series. It was a last minute decision to take the trip to the event after seeing the fantastic turnout and media coverage of the Round 2 Event at Road Atlanta. Not having a traditional time attack car in the stable of IPG Race Vehicles didn't matter as the Integra RS Street car fell suitably into the Limited FWD Class. Louis Murphy piloted the car during the event. Friday's sessions frustrated the team as an intermittent electrical issue caused the engine to break up during hard cornering. Quick troubleshooting pin pointed the issue to some loose connections with how the ECU was mounted and with only a handful of laps during the Friday sessions Murphy put the car in 1st place. Saturday's festivities were busy as the Global Time Attack event was run in conjunction with the Formula Drift event so there was non-stop action in front of the thousands of spectators in attendance. Dry conditions allowed Murphy to get in the groove as he reduced is lap times each session. The 1:34.074 Lap Time locked the team into 1st place in the Limited FWD Class and also secured the Track Record in the Limited FWD Class at Palm Beach Intl Raceway. All in all it was a great event. The Global Time Attack team made it all run as smoothly as possible and the IPG Team looks foward to competing in future events.
