The IPGParts.com race team travelled to Palm Beach Intl Raceway this past weekend for the finale of the Tropical Endurance Series (November 12-13th, 2011). Coming into the final race 4th place in points a good finish was crucial for the team to move into the top 3 points earners for the 2011 season. The team competed with the 1993 Acura Integra GS setup for the Improved Touring A (ITA) Class during the season and at the finale. This past weekend the team traveled to Homestead, Florida for the Tropical Endurance Series event at Homestead Speedway with the ITA Acura Integra. This was a double race weekend meaning that we would run a 1.5 hour Enduro on Saturday with the course in one configuration and then another 1.5 hour Enduro on Sunday with the course in another configuration. Neither of the team drivers have run on the Homestead course before so the short qualifying sessions would be their first go at learning the track layout and how it wants to be driven. This past weekend we competed in our first door to door racing event at the SCCA Regionals at Sebring International Raceway. The IPG ITA Integra debut went smoothly for the most part and ended with the drive to be more competitive in the future. Piloted by Russell McMullen the Integra worked nicely over the weekend as we found some strengths and weaknesses that we will address in the near future.
