World Cup Finals 2014 Race Car Prep
It has been a long 3 weeks here at IPG as we prepared 2 drag cars for the World Cup Finals event at Maryland Intl Raceway this weekend (November 7th-9th, 2014). The All Motor CRX got a complete new engine and chassis harness by Wire-Worx along with some chassis maintenance work, a fresh fuel system with a front mounted fuel cell, Weldon 2015 Fuel Pump and some Fuel Injector Clinic 1650cc injectors and a fresh tune by Chris Harris of Xenocron Tuning on VP M5. All said the car came together smoothly for the most part and the goals have been hit for performance updates pointing the team in the right direction to run that magic 9 second pass. The CRX will be competing in the 10.0 Index class for the weekend. The True Street Civic got a major makeover during this time which included a freshly built B18c Block by Mazworx Racing Engines that included Darton Sleeves, JE Pistons with upgraded wrist pins, and Carrillo Pro-H Rods with SPS Carr Bolts. A larger Borg Warner 67mm turbocharger was fitted to pick up the extra horsepower needed to be competitive in the class and Gforce racing transmissions came through with their Dog Engagement gearset to handle the increased power. Dyno results were positive for both cars with the CRX laying down a smooth 350whp and the True Street Civic cracking that 800whp mark. The team has already arrived at Maryland Intl Raceway hoping to take advantage of the Thursday test day in preparation for the weekends racing.
