Hytech vs Toda Header Test

Last Friday we were able to do a header test between the Hytech and the Toda V2 Header. The test car a B16A equipped CRX was already using the Hytech Header with great results (About 11hp everywhere over the DC Sports 4-2-1 for the B16) However we were looking for another header that had better ground clearance and stumbled across a Toda V2 at a deal we couldn't pass up. The results were alot better than i expected, With the Toda picking up power and torque just about everywhere, Without losing any power up top. Overall we gained the extra...

Suspension Basics

Pointed the Right Way story by john hagerman Camber, Caster and Toe: What Do They Mean? The three major alignment parameters on a car are toe, camber, and caster. Most enthusiasts have a good understanding of what these settings are and what they involve, but many may not know why a particular setting is called for, or how it affects performance. BBS Drag Wheels to go on Sale on April 18th, 2013

Here it is, the official release and pricing. We have a very limited # of these available. With all of our test fitting we have only been able to verify that these will fit a Civic Spindle setup (small brake setup) with the use of a 10mm spacer for caliper clearance. We have been unable to fit them on an Integra Spindle car (but if you want to try and your own feel free). The issue isn't the backspacing it is the way the back of the face of the 4x100 center is designed, it is very flat and it...

Edelbrock 4730 B16/B18c Camshaft Dyno Testing

We have been getting quite a few questions lately about the Edelbrock 4730 Camshafts on a naturally aspirated application. Yesterday day we decided to upgrade the springs, retainers and drop a set of the 4730 Cams into an in house project car. The Test Mule was an 88 CRX equipped with an internally stock B16A, ITR Intake Manifold, Omni Power 68mm Throttlebody, AEM Short Ram Intake, and Authentic Hytech Header. With everything installed and ready to go it was time to hit the dyno for tuning on the S300. The end result was pretty good, The 4730 Cams overall picked...

Sport Compact Camshafts

Sport Compact Camshafts By Aaron Bonk Webster’s Dictionary defines the word “cam” as a disk or cylinder having an irregular form such that its motion – usually rotary – gives a rocking or reciprocating motion to any contiguous part. In other words, when rotated, a cam will impart its irregular, out-of-round or eccentric shape onto the given corresponding object. The camshaft then, is simply a rod-shaped device that hosts one or more cams and is able to react against multiple objects all at once. And while cams may be found in any number of mechanical devices ranging from furniture hardware...
