The IPGparts.com race team recently traveled to Maryland International Raceway with the Supertech Performance All Motor CRX to compete at the Fall HDay event. The HDay events continue to be the premiere sport compact drag racing, car show and entertainment venue with the Honda brand in mind. 16 cars were in attendance to compete in the heads up All Motor drag racing class. After recent testing and car updates things were looking promising for the crew as the qualifying rounds were set to commence. Recently the IPGparts.com team took the Supertech Performance All Motor Honda CRX out for a night of testing at Orlando Speedworld. After some recent updates to the car that included a new 3 piece front end and custom airbox the team was anxious to see what new ET and MPH possibilities the car had in it. In the last installment of your blog series regarding the build of our 400+ naturally aspirated 2.6L 4 Cylinder K Series engine we discussed the cylinder head for the project. Now we tackle the short block. With the CRX chassis we have concerns over engine block deck height and fitting the package into the engine bay. We have always run K20 blocks for that reason as every bit of clearance between the engine and the hood counts for packaging.
