We recently had 2 sets of Wheels/Slicks sitting side by side and got a true perspective on the different wheel widths. Both sets of wheels have the Mickey Thompson 24.5x9x13 ET Drag Slicks mounted on them. The 13x9's are definitely showing the potential for more tire contact patch compared to the 13x8's that are pictured. Actually a bigger difference that I thought there would of been. Gives you some interesting food for thought for your next drag wheel purchase.

Now is a great time to have an interest in small cars. The Sport Compact industry started with small cars and technologically advanced engines for their day. We are currently seeing a resurgence of the small cars and technologically advanced engines. Since we started racing the ITA Integra we have consistently had braking issues. A cooling setup was on the to do list for quite some time and we finally got around to getting a nice setup done on it. All design and fabrication was done by Russell McMullen for us who also happens to be co-driving the car. A system was designed to use existing mounting points as much as possible to funnel the air directly into the center of the rotor. The IPG Racing Team traveled to Englishtown, New Jersey this past weekend for the 2011 Fall Nationals and more specifically to compete in the All Motor Shootout with the newly finished car. The IPG All Motor Civic Reincarnation is still freshly completed and with only a handfull of passes the trip was sure to be one filled with a steep learning curve. In my ongoing look into what is making and breaking Sport Compact Drag Racing I am pulling on my first hand experience this past weekend at the 2011 Fall Nationals in Englishtown, New Jersey. What makes the sport compact drag racing events are the people that attend and race in them. The hardest part about actually racing is getting to the events in my opinion.
