1992 Integra GSR DB2 Cleaned Up

We haven't had an update on the IPG 1992 Acura Integra GSR in a while and recently we had it cleaned up a bit so was a great time to take some new pictures. Here is how it sits currently, all the same suspension mods as before with 15" custom powder coated Mugen MR5 Wheels. Still a great car to have around the shop. We don't use it as much as we should but we plan on getting it out a bit more in the near future.

1st Place Limited FWD at Global Time Attack Palm Beach

The IPGParts.com Race Team traveled to Palm Beach, Florida on June 1st-2nd, 2012 to compete in Round 3 of the Global Time Attack series. It was a last minute decision to take the trip to the event after seeing the fantastic turnout and media coverage of the Round 2 Event at Road Atlanta. Not having a traditional time attack car in the stable of IPG Race Vehicles didn't matter as the Integra RS Street car fell suitably into the Limited FWD Class. Louis Murphy piloted the car during the event. Friday's sessions frustrated the team as an intermittent electrical issue...

Crankshaft Vibration Dampers 101 BY J.C. BEATTIE OF ATI PERFORMANCE PRODUCTS Courtesy of ATI Performance Products - http://www.atiracing.com/products/dampers/101/index.htm I have been around dampers for a long time and traveled to different engine shops around the country to test actual crankshaft twist for the past 16 years. Throughout these years I have collected a lot of information that allows me to make informed decisions on “how much” damper certain engines need. When given the crank weight, peak normal operating RPM, horsepower, rotating system materials, rules about the damper specifications (if racing), and the application of the engine (road racing, oval or...

New Product: Progress // IPG Drag Coilovers for 92-00 Civic, 94-01 Integra

We have been working closely with Progress Auto for the last couple of months and are finally able to introduce the Progress Drag Coilovers that have been built to the IPG Specs. We actually got our first set of these last October before the 2011 World Cup Finals and we have been running them on the IPG All Motor Drag Civic for the last couple of months. These have been built with FWD Street cars in particular in mind. Specifically the Street All Motor, True Street, SFWD and Outlaw FWD Classes. But will work for a wide array of setups...

Turbo Tech: Compression Ratio with Boost

Courtesy of TurbobyGarrett.com ( http://turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/compression_ratio_with_boost ) Before discussing compression ratio and boost, it is important to understand engine knock, also known as detonation. Knock is a dangerous condition caused by uncontrolled combustion of the air/fuel mixture. This abnormal combustion causes rapid spikes in cylinder pressure which can result in engine damage. Three primary factors that influence engine knock are: Knock resistance characteristics (knock limit) of the engine: Since every engine is vastly different when it comes to knock resistance, there is no single answer to "how much." Design features such as combustion chamber geometry, spark plug location, bore size and...
