Project Left, Right, Left EF is up and running, actually it has been running for a couple of weeks now and it is time to schedule some track time for it. Overall the theme of a budget minded Road Racer has been kept intact with the running cost amounting to a whopping $2424.50 of actual cash money invested into the car to get it to the point that you see it pictured and running at now. Of course we didn't factor any labor cost into the project as any true budget build gets free labor right ? Building a car similar to this all comes down to how good of a deal you can get on the car itself to begin with. In our case we found a great deal on a local car that had been in pieces for a while and came with a lot of extra parts we didn't need that we sold off to recoup a good portion of the budget. The short list of specifications includes:
1989 Honda Civic Si
B18c1 GSR Engine Cable
B16 Transmission with OEM LSD
New Exedy Stage 1 Clutch
Homemade Short Ram Intake
IPG Coated OEM Header
Aftermarket Billet Engine Mounts
OBD1 Jumper Harness with OBD1 P72 ECU
Momo Steering Wheel and Hub Autopower Bolt-in 4 Point Roll Bar
Autometer Cobalt Oil Pressure and Water Temperature Gauges
Corbeau 4 Point Harness (stock one still in place too so you get your choice)
TR C1 15x8 Wheels with Kumho 205/50/15 Tires
Blown Intrax Coilovers (these need replacing soon)
Suspension Techniques Rear Sway Bar
New Blank Front and Rear Rotors
ATE Super Blue Brake Fluid
Probably a couple of bits and pieces I am missing but that that is the jist of it. Stay tuned for more updates as the car starts hitting tracks in the Southeast for some fun.
