Gates PowerGrip SB Hose Clamps

As the Integra Type R race car project proceeds we are developing some new parts, new kits and using new items to see how they work. The Gates PowerGrip SB Radiator hose clamps are one of those items. These thermoplastic hose clamps are installed over your traditional radiator hoses and then with the use of an ordinary heat gun shrink to offer an incredible tensioner regardless of shape or temperature. This is our first time using this particular style clamp but they are coming as OE equipment on some vehicles on the road today. Our reason for using them is to one try something new and secondly the tight fitment of the radiator hose on the upper water neck didn't allow a normal clamp to seat as properly as we expect.

Installation if straight forward by simply slipping the Gates PowerGrip SB hose clamp over the radiator hose and using your standard heat gun to shrink it into place. Removal is a matter of carefully cutting it off with a box cutter or snips or Gates actually sells a removal tool to aide in the removal without damaging the radiator hose itself.
